I have never really been into heroes or heroines, I think that my hopes were dashed at a young age. I have noticed as I have gotten older that there are those truly entitled to be called a hero or heroine. My first thought were the men and women in New York on September 11, 2001, the firefighters, the police officers, as well as the average citizen that worked so hard to save lives. Next would be our men and women in the military whether they are stationed here in the United States or some far away land without their families. They have chosen to sacrifice their own personal safety for ours.
I know that there are many people throughout history that have been referred to as heroes in one degree or another. There are even more throughout the pages of the Bible or any religious document, the one that comes to mind always is David. David took on Goliath when he was a young man and won. David later became King. David was truly a man of God and he sinned. He sinned many times but always found favor with God, he consider to be a man after God’s own heart. He sought out God even with his own imperfections. That is someone worth looking up to and wanting to be a little more like. Continuing to seek God with our own imperfections.
There are many women of the Bible that are amazing women of strength and courage not weak and helpless…my mom was like that in many ways. My mom became a widow when she was 32 yrs old with four children under the age of 10 and 2 of them were in diapers. She had her weak moments but her strength and courage always overpowered the weakness. I have tried to model this in many ways…I especially don’t like to show weakness or helplessness to anyone but I have and it is not easy.
These are the kinds of people who are heroes or heroines in my book.
There were two other parts to this topic…who is your favorite villain and who would play your evil twin in a movie?! My favorite movie villain is The Joker and Darth Vader. I remember seeing Darth Vader at a Pizza and Pipes in Tacoma when we were kids with my G’pa & G’ma, my sister and I were so scared we ducked under the table. It is so funny to think about now but man alive we were scared. He was huge and sounded even scarier than the movie.
My evil twin in a movie…not sure but I really think that my younger sister Debbie could, she has a streak in her sometimes. LOL Movie people who could…not sure but if you come up with a good one don’t hesitate to let me know.
